The way i would put it is c a and c a departments aren't interesting. Art fact that, in particular, newer orgs still feel like they might need one. So sdets absolutely can do all those things. They can climb all over a test environment with outomation. But if that is what you are using your estets for, you are frankly missing out. Because i guarantee you, the people that you've hired as estets have a lot more scales than that.
