In the air-eval population, we actually looked at people who went on to lose weight from those who didn't. Microbiome is consuming more, easier to lose weight. The second big factor that made a difference is if the genes in your microbiome are more likely to break down complex carbohydrates. So some microbiomes will break that down into simple sugars that will spike your insulin more. It's harder to lose weight but if you have a microbiome that will break down those complex carbohydrates into short-chain fatty acids, then it's easier to lost weight.
