Franco and the Bombing of Gunica
Pablo Picasso's Gunica was painted in response to the bombing of Bilibao. Franco and his Nazi allies deny involvement, claiming retreating Republicans were the ones who destroyed Gunica. The world renowned artist Pablo Picasso is shaken to the core when he reads reports of the bombardment. Most Spaniards will not be able to see this masterpiece under the Franco dictatorship.
