Holmes' friend John Muhammad had been traveling with a young man he referred to as his son, and he'd even nicknamed him Sniper. The 13th shot was fired on Saturday, October 19, making this the first time one occurred on a weekend. During this general time period, the killers also tried calling others. They apparently called the FBI task force at an 800 number four times. And in the wake of the ponderosa shooting, the killers finally were able to establish a line of communication with authorities.
