Tim Sweeney ran a computer consulting business called Potomac. He started programming games that he intended to sell on nights and weekends, using his IBM personal computer. Scott Miller of Apogee Software was the person who got Commander Keen off the ground with their platformers. The company gave Tim Sweeney his start in game sales by fulfilling mail orders for them.
