Diagnosis of Dilation in Small Catheters

Dilation only occurs when you advance the dilator a centimeter, and the skin remains motionless. The starting point for your angle of advancing should be the same angle as you stuck with your needle to reach the vessel. It's probably good practice to have your other hand on the wire. Dilation occurs most effectively and safely when you're dilating over a fixed tract,. And your wire is better fixed if you anchor the back end.
