As the year draws to a close, oil prices are tumbling. This actually widens the window for a soft landing. Booming economic growth in late 2021 and travel as pandemic effects waned led to a surge in the demand for gasoline, diesel and jet fuel. The national average price for regular unleaded gasoline this morning is $3.26 down from a peak of $5.02 on June 14th.
