How Investors Should Be Reading News of Job Cuts?
The share price reaction doesn't necessarily tell you much about how these cuts are going to affect businesses in the long term. It does seem maybe some of the more out of favor stocks have reacted better, sales force matters or a decent bounce on news of job cuts. But I don't think I'd be too concerned as an investor. The market not reacting a lot is because there's a recognition that so much of Amazon's workforce in a physical sense is doing a job which is productive. And at some level growth has perhaps been deprioritized. That's also bad.
