The Dark Patterns in Social Media Platforms
If something feels like it's intended to keep your kid hooked or keep the individual hooked, then it's a pretty good signal of what the values that the platform is being built around are. And hence the dark patterns are going to be a bit different depending on the technology and who's using it. So for a child like Oliver, who's five, six, he's going to be motivated to collect more rewards and, you know, to have more trophies. Whereas a teen is going to be motivation probably to get lots of likes and comments and notifications from social media.
