The Nordic Countries and the Social Safety Net

Andrew Heaton: We should expand the social safety net, even if it means raising taxes on us. He says we should be like Nordic countries that rely on heavier amounts of redistribution but have less regulation and less warping of the labor market. There's no statutory minimum wage in any of those countries with collective bargaining agreements which set a wage for most industries. "I am much, much more of a Denmark type guy than Bernie Sanders," he says.
