The Evolution of Schema Therapy

Jeffrey Young first published his seminal book in 1990. Schema therapy has really continued to evolve over the last almost 30 years. Arnold Aunze and the Netherlands started a big borderline study when he was looking for a kind of reformulation of the model. And so now the next step we, the whole psychotherapy development took was this, what would Stephen Hayes originally called a third wave approach then he called it a more contextual model. The idea of a meter cognitive approach in CBT, which is more or less obviously tainted by Buddhist thinking also happened in schema therapy.
