Jimin County Councilors Launch Initiative to Turn Jing-Man Into a DMZ

A bipartisan collective of Jimin County Councilors this week launched an initiative to turn Jing-man into a demilitarized zone. The groups include a cross party alliance and one made up of independent councillors. They're calling for the removal of military personnel and installations to the outlying island as part of a wider effort to promote cross straight peace with shaman in China. Former DPP Chairman Sherman Duhr also chimed in saying that he's spent decades promoting the idea of turning Jing-man and Matsu into buffer zones.
