New York's Flood Defense System
New York is building a new flood wall down at Battery Park City and through the park. Some of it's going to be buried under the park, others have glass walled sections so you can still see through it. The whole thing is going to help protect the area from rising sea levels, storm surges and flooding. It does require part of the park to be demolished and the whole thing to be elevated.
