The Politics of the Ukrainian Revolution
The first law adopted by the Maidan government was banned under a use of the Russian language in official communications. And as such, it was quite one side of confrontation, which led to the pro-Ukrainian side having much more powerful political structures. The protests began back in March and they were not armed yet. They started occupying government buildings on the eve of April 6 2014. That is kind of forcible thing though, right? I mean that's just what people did under Maidan.
