Oil Extraction in the Southern Amazon

In the nineties and two thousands, groups that hadn't previously been in direct contact with oil extraction a face the threat to their territory. So you have this emergence of more militant anti-oil activism in the amazon. The demand is not necessarily an end to all oil extraction, but that indigenous peoples have a voice and a veto power over oil extraction.
