In most cases, you have staging and production environments. When a developer decides to make the change, they simply make a pull request. ECS has two developers, in my opinion, is more difficult than giving Kubernetes API to developers. It's like a big mess, and we wanted something simple. I said, okay, wait, how much do people actually need to know?
