One explanation is, as you point out, this kind of bully pulpit effect that is going on. Do the prime minister's speeches reference simply the attack and the fact that soldiers died, or do they also mention the specific soldier name and characteristics from that particular constituency? No, sir, the PM's speeches does not mention specifically the name of the soldier anything. It's tit general speech. And so what we're thinking over here is that, is it an information effect, or a memory recall effect? That's what we study in this paper.
