The new approach involves the use of use of synthetic data and very complicated agaritms, including some they called reinforcement learning. Like alphago, the system not only learned the rules of the game themselves, but learned how to win at the game. And if there are things that the computer understands that humans will never understand, is that a parallel world, or is that just a different kind of intelligence? These are questions for philosophers about how does life work,. How does reality work, and how does meaning work? But the fact that these things are producing discoveries that humans could not have conceived of is a big deal.
I have been obsessed with AI for the past years and constantly talk about it in a couple of episodes, especially will AI turn out to be the "Terminator" that we would fear?
In this episode, Eric Schmidt, American technology businessman, software engineer, and ex-CEO of Google, and author, came on to answer all my questions on AI! Will AI turn into the "Terminator", should we fear AI, can we use AI to actually help humanity?
We also talked about his new book, The Age of AI: And Our Human Future, and how would AI change our future!
My new book Skip The Line is out! Make sure you get a copy wherever you get your new book!
