In the south there's so much done on a client basis. A lot of the small town economies are built on clientalism. The privileges of being first and not having to wait in line were more important than making money. So if I got tired of standing in line and decided I could live without the comic book so be it. Because they did not regard our economic power as important as keeping this comfort zone that they were still in control of this population. They had controlled violently since 1619.
