"I tripped over the bodies of one of those little girls who'd been shot in the back of the head and her whole face was gone so I looked down you know there's blood pouring from two holes in my leg," he says. "The most bizarre thing is that these guys in horrible pain for their mothers, they're screaming at me like it's still going on with the human psychology." He also recalls how a French journalist Bernard Ganyard hopped in the humby and drove out under fire after seeing him get shot.
