Emily Jacobs is a neuroendocrinologist at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She aims to see if findings in animals can be applied to people. In 2011 Annalise Berry quantified what is now referred to as the sex bias in basic science. 80% of drugs and medical devices that are pulled from the US market are done so because they have adverse effects in women.
