Josh DB: The reason they don't say you'll be unconscious for a colonoscopy is because you're probably not. You're typically under what they call conscious sedation where you're a peer drowsy, but conscious do not form memories and may even be able to respond to verbal commands. This makes positioning easier. That's at least how it was explained to me. I'm definitely going to try that next time in five years.
