The Role of Water in Conflict
We see this when rivers literally run dry, we just simply do not have the water in the places that we need it. We are now mining water that has been underground for hundreds, even thousands of years and that is a real drain on absolute amount of water available to farmers. I think without a doubt we are seeing an increase in conflicts over water resources. As populations grow as demands grow, we are seeing more and more tensions over shared rivers.
