Why Did People Not Greed in Two Thousand Five?

When there's more money in the economy, this has the tendency to push prices up. Greed was also supposed to have caused the financial crisis of two thousand eight. So why were people not greedy in two thousand five, or two thousand or 19 86, or whenever? Why does greed seem to move only in a cyclical pattern? Isn't that strange? Seems kind of strange.
