In the nineteenth century you see endless new innovations in ear trumpet design. But as it becomes more common and less ino accessory, the stigma increases. The old sort of n h s hearing aids of the 19 seventies became a bit of a joke. It's finally very funny to make jokes about people having misinterpretations.
