What Is Non-Conventional Production?

In the late 1950s, Hubbard predicted that lower 48 United States oil production would peak around 1970. But his predictions were far more accurate than he's generally given credit for. Lower 48 US conventional production peaked right around 1970 when Hubbard predicted it would. Environmental production also peaked globally in 2005, just a few years after Hubbard's 2000 prediction and has never been exceeded.
