There is more or less now a sense of you know that even in my lifetime. Overall Indian economy is a low income low income economy so it's not like we're a rich country and within that I think these failures of systems in our part of the world makes it even harder. People are voting and they're participating and that's the process through which any change has to happen. India generally does very well for its level of development in terms of voter turnout.
Indian society, the Indian state and the Indian economy are all complex beasts that defy simple narratives.
