The Importance of Platonism in Philosophy

I think the thing that sort of unsticks people is the religious element of it. We don't like looking at Plato in Socrates in those matters we like to look at them from this very sort of abstract, almost clinical academic view. I think all of that tends to get lost. And so, I think philosophy is this living tradition of how am I going to live my life to the best, not just how do I think deep thoughts.
