"I was watching my dad put his hand inside an engine to get kelp out of this CDU while I'm also watching giant lightning, not far away from us," he says. "We just kind of kept trucking after that and made it back." He recalls shooting at a place called the Veterans Hall in Hollywood where they shot some freaks and geeks.
