Social media isn't the problem, it's how people use social media. Mark Manson said this like two years ago in a blog post. Do I think every conversation should happen? No, I think there should be constraints. Where you put those constraints in is where I think the platforms would differ. You accept the constraints and affordances of the environment when you go into it. If you don't like it, leave.
