The Negative Effects of a Capitalist Society on Tradition
I think that this culture of consumerism and commodification of everything is... Well, you're right, that a capitalist society is benefited by destroying human bonds. In my lifetime, the gap between the super-rich and the poor has got greater, not smaller. I feel that the journey from the kind of collective goodwill that the counter-cultural and E-war civil rights movement too was devoured and repurposed by the machine. But there is always another side to every question. And it's the neglect of the downside of what one is doing that is leading us into ruin.
