When people buy an e book from amazon or apple, that's a license the e book. You don't actually own that e book. When you buy a video game from steam or x box or play station, a digital video game, you just have a license to the video gameright? And so what you're saying here is that part of this lawsuit that the publishers are trying to enforce against the open library against the internet archive is to try to further cement this notion that digital products should be licensed and not be owned., he says.
