The Federalist and the Articles of Confederation
The essays were originally newspaper editorials in support of the Constitution. They fielded objections that were going on by people like Brutus and others loosely called Anti-Federalists. The Bill of Rights ends up getting included to one of the major objections by the Anti-Federalist is there was not an enunciation of specific civil liberties.
