Why the Method of Local Is So Popular?
The method of loci has been placed in such a high position is popular for competitions. The dangers are that people just think that's what memory should be, is citing things. And it falls down very rapidly as soon as you try and add too much information. If you're trying to remember multiple things about person, then you end up putting the date of birth and then what they look like and then their job. These are not useful things. It fascinates me how synonymous it is with memory techniques. To the extent, I think this might be in the book.
