Bank Panics and the Great Depression
Bank of canada wasn't established till 19 34. They had no central bank, but also no financial turmoil that we saw in the american bank panics. So how about that? Less regulation, more stability. Second it's not entirely clear that the fed was particularly successful in stopping bank Panics. Bank panics are phenomena that came to an end really only with the advent of deposit insurance in 19 34.
