COPD and Pathophysiology
COPD is characterized by poorly reversible airflow obstruction and an abnormal inflammatory response in the lungs. Inflammation is one of the three key pathways that results in COPD. The other two being protease, anti protease imbalance and oxidative stress. When we go on to thinking about how these patients are managed, it's a really particular management strategy.
