Ukraine and NATO - Russia Is the Brightest of All Red Lines

The U.S. has shipped tens of billion dollars in weapons and this direct budgetary aid to the Ukrainian government. Ukraine is not expected to receive formal NATO membership anytime soon, but officials consider themselves a de facto member. And NATO countries have big plans for a post-war Ukraine. They want to make sure they keep getting Western and NATO weapons. These plans are likely unacceptable to Russia and could prolong the war.
