A pre-print is a version of a paper that precedes peer review in a journal. It's become much more popular within the biomedical sciences over the past year or so. Dan Arnawe: I feel strongly that there are some papers that will benefit tremendously from doing this. He says it can be useful because you're talking about large conceptual issues.
