Every guest I've ever traced their genealogy for has secrets. The reason is we're a nation of immigrants, right? People came here were fleeing something. They were in pursuit of opportunity. And just like our ancestors in the African American community, they decided that they wouldn't tell the children because to tell the children would be too painful. That's the role a secret plays in the shaping of your identity and personality.
