Chat GTP: A Textual DJ
I write ostensibly a prompt, I pitch it to an editor and the editor says, yeah, run with that. But from that prompt, the text seems to have a life of its own. So I tend to think that I'm a tool of the text and not the other way around. And that has been my experience for every one of the things I've written. You know, I just do some crate diving, I grab some samples and then I reassemble those samples in ways that to me sound interesting and hopefully produce something that other people find interesting.
