The Pupilary Light Reflex

Our pupils take about 200 milliseconds to respond to a sudden flash of light. Avian pupils are far faster, shown the same flash and owls' people will reach maximum constriction before years have moved a millimeter. The pupil of the eye changes to as many different sizes as there are differences in the degrees of brightness. There's also wide diversity in how pupils behave.
