In that analogy, and this is the second half of it, imagine you're the friend who's being told how great this person's new partner is. You don't want to be like, honestly, I'm a little worried, he's like the same guy,. Right? So my job is actually to help you not to receive your love and then be like, "This is great," right?" Malcolm: Freud always demystifies taboos in his work so we can talk about things people might hold dear but are uncomfortable talking about.
