Loretto presca is a member of the federalist society, which is funded largely by chevron. There are really no processes in place forval ing or counteracting these possible conflicts of interest that arise through this very complicated apparatus of political institutions like the federalist Society. The state refused to prosecute him, dropped the case. But presca then allowed chevron, in an extremely unusual action, to pay a private law firm to take up the prosecution and continue prosecuting him. And the judge, not surprisingly, found him guilty of contempt of court, and hehas now been sent to prison.
