The Impact of Beware Software on Police
New York City's stop-and-verse program was a response to distrust of the police. Police officers generally are not data analysts, and they're not really trained to deal with large amounts of information. The idea is that it was giving more information quicker. It wasn't necessarily accurate or true, although it was providing information. And so it's changing how police see what they need to do proactively and also reactively.
