The History of the Meat Rack
For a hundred years, men have been having sex in Fire Island's meat rack. The public space is made private by hidden nooks and a network of narrow paths. People had sex here without fear at least since the 1920s when Long Island Railroad began shuttling city dwellers on steam-powered passenger trains. David Sano: "I kind of take care of this forest"
