For every one thing that makes it through to the conscious brain, 275,000 others were processed by the subconscious and sorted based on how well they fit the current mold and outlook. Some of these are ingrained in us genetically over years and years, but many of them are built over our own singular lifetimes. Someone who grew up in a very religious household will have different impacts of confirmation bias than someone who did not. Those who grew up with wealth and privilege will see things differently than those who grew up poor.
