Is There a Difference Between Population and Consumption?

We've dramatically increased the number of people that can live in an area. And I think we fail to realize just what an insane impact some things have. The construction of a car has the following environmental impacts: 60564 gallons of water for parts and tires, 682 pounds of pollution at a mine for the lead battery and 2,178 pounds of discharge into water supply for 22 pounds of copper contained in the car.
