The Black Dot Is Not True Black

At a certain point, the nimita kind of goes away. It becomes the dark dot or the black dot as I tend to call it. The more you focus on the black dot, the more the edge starts getting interesting. And that's where the interesting work happens and where most of the cool images occur. But for people who really like the one pointedness of the dot and that sort of sharpness that the dot has, it can be a frustrating object until you get an acquired taste for the Merc.
