The Importance of Setting Expectations for Patients

I've definitely had patients who come in who almost seem desperate because their pain is so severe as you mentioned. Having these expectations ahead of time might help guide that process like obviously the more knowledgeable we are as clinicians which is why we're talking to you right now, hopefully it can help us pre-plan and say okay, we've heard about this before,. what are some things that we can do to meet this patient where they're at despite having that really severe pain That they're having a hard time describing. And as far as those other sensations so maybe numbness, tingling, however they might describe it but I think that this is a scenario where our objective exam is extremely important
