Introduction
Amara Jones: There's nothing more in the balance than trans rights at the legislative level across the United States. So far, we have seen close to 500 bills introduce in 47 states that seek to block our community from receiving basic health care, education, and the right to simply exist. The transgender Bill of Rights resolution is one effort to do just that. Amara will talk with co-chair of the Congressional Transgender Equality Task Force Congresswoman Prameela Jayapal about her work to introduce the trans Bill of Rights. Next I'm joined by the Executive Director of the National Center for Transgender Equality, Rodrigo Hang Layton, to discuss the need for firmer policy protections for trans people
